IHC accepts petition seeking inquiry into alleged threat letter

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has acknowledged an appeal for hearing on Monday (tomorrow), looking for an investigation into the supposed danger letter in regards to contribution of a country in trick against the Pakistan's administration.


The request was documented by a resident Molvi Iqbal Haider.


It petitioned the court to put the names of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi and other PTI pioneers including Chaudhary Fawad Hussain Chaudhry, Qasim Suri and Asad Majeed on the Exit Control List (ECL) until the choice of the court.

Boss Justice Athar Minallah would take up the case for hearing on April 11.


On April 8, Lieutenant General (Retd) Tariq Khan, who was selected as a top of a commission by the central government to explore affirmed lettergate, had pardoned himself from administering the commission to test the matter.


It is pertinent to make reference to here that a letter was composed by Pakistan Ambassador Asad Majeed Khan, apparently pointing towards an arrangement of shift in power Pakistan through a no-certainty vote.


Family sources had said that Lt Gen (Retd) Tariq Khan wouldn't have the option to head the commission because of his own commitment.


They had additionally said that Lt Gen (Retd) Tariq Khan had pardoned himself from heading the commission.


Prior in the day, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry had declared the government bureau had shaped a commission to examine the supposed unfamiliar intrigue behind the no-certainty movement against PM Imran Khan.


The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) pioneer had let the media know that Lieutenant General (retd) Tariq Khan would lead the commission which will test the affirmed "compromising reminder."
