Government Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb on Tuesday declared canceling Pakistan Media Development Authority (PMDA), calling it a disputable body to smother the voice of media.
Tending to the media in Islamabad, she said the opportunity of articulation is the right of each pakistani, and it won't be shortened.
She said PMDA, existing in any structure, has been canceled and added that no equal position to Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) will exist.
Marriyum said the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016 Ordinance 2016 will be explored with all partners.
